Keith @ the Auto Dream Group as entertained this idea and feels it is a lot easier/cheaper than what I have done.

Well drap ready and street driveable, but you are correct, without going with the full frame/rollcage much of the added engineering isn't needed resulting in big savings.

yeah my thought is just turn the engine and tranny using the same suspension and putting a rear end on it aside fromthe labor wouldnt really be that dramatic

The rear end will be where the gas tank is now, you need to run a drive shaft where the exhaust is now and you need to allow for the tranny as it won't be the stock one. All in all there is some fabricating to do and the rear suspension may need to be swapped from the donor vehicle as well.

That could be fixed with a longer driveshaft and a deeper offset on the tires, unless you want to shorten the rear end. And of course any thing is possible with enough money except maybe men giving birth and growing wings to fly. lol.
um as disturbing as it is, men can actually in fact carry a baby and give birth to it. the way it works: an egg is fertilized, then transplanted/connected to one of the intestines and it grows for 9 months, then you get a c-section, and wa la, baby. as for the rwd, all i can think of is victory

How about you buy a nice RWD car, unless you have the money to burn, but then why would you be driving a cobalt. victoryred is different he wants a drag race car so i am not criticizing him.

< just had one of those feel like a dick moments lol. Realized it was a revival and yes you are crazy.

Heres an easier solution.......

Sell the SS/SC and buy a Solstice or Sky.

How much dough do you guys think this would require? Bc in my mind this would make it like an ultimate badass ride.

go here and add up everything he's done: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...oes-rwd-48074/
honestly he's not being a jerk. the reason you get a flippant response is that if someone really wants to do a project like that they will take a lot of time to research what it takes to do it. Just coming on a forum and your first post is to ask the price of a ridiculous project is the forum equivalent of a tire-kicker. it's no offense, just not worth the effort to figure it out for you.

one of the "rules" about doing a project like that is you don't keep track of the cost, because 1) you'll never finish it if you do, and 2) it doesn't matter in the end.

Much easier to just buy a RWD car if thats what you want. Unless youre a fabricator for a living, its really just not a feasible idea for most people. I would love for you to prove me wrong though.

I'm doing a pretty involved project and I'd never dream of something like RWD conversion of a Cobalt (or any FWD car). victory's car and project is dang impressive, but there are very few that could pull that off for a few reasons.

I mean I was just trying see if anybody had successfully done it that's all. It wasn't a complicated question. And as far as research goes this is literally the first post that pops up on Google search.

Then that's what you need to ask although if you had asked that instead you'd get a "just google it" response.
I linked vicory's thread so you can see what he's done. I think there might be one other somewhere.
Before you go there though, read posts 18 and 19 in this thread and notice who posted them.
