Shift Kit?

Ok, so i've read how the automatic cobalts have the 4t65-e transmission, the same as the grand prix's. So has anyone thought about throwing in a shift kit from Thrasher engineering into it?

Or am i completly wrong here?

We have the 4t45e transmission not the 4t65e tranny.

You are in fact completely wrong. Hey, just answering your question.

All of the Cobalts equipped with autos have the 4T45E, not the 65. That kit won't work.

The 4t45e automatic transmission shifting firmness, and shift points are controlled by the TCM (Transmission Control Module). Tuning the TCM can be accomplished with hp-tuners software (for the do-it-yourselfer) or Wester's garage (who will also tune the ECM) to match.

Shift kits aren't needed for our auto's, though an upgraded torque converter and a trans oil cooler is always a good idea for high hp/drag race applications.

You could look at Grand AM trasnmissions though, although there is not a super lot out for them, they have the 4t45e's in them.
