Shifter pops out of gear in 2nd

Hey guys I just got my 06 SS/SC this last Friday it only has about 100 miles on it. I have been having a constant problem well 2 actually I read about the cruise control problem. Mine isnt working so I guess I have to get it reset. The 2nd problem is when shifting from first to second gear it quite often pops right out of gear (during normal driving in the city). I'm going to take it to the dealership but I was curious to see if anyone else has had this happen or anything?

does your 2nd gear engage when you let off the clutch and then it pops out of gear or will the shifter just not stay in position?

My freind had the same problem. he has an 05 he took it to the dealership and they had to move the trans cooler lines outta the way. the shift cables and the trans lines were hiting each other. thats what the dealer ship said. the problem was suposed to be corrected in 06 tho. i have an 06 no problems with the shifting here.

Also check the linkage cables, mine were out of adjustment which caused the car to pop out of gear at times.

I have seen this a couple times on my '06 SS/SC. As long as I make sure I get it in 2nd, I don't have problems, but if I softly throw in into 2nd gear, I have seen it pop out after I release the clutch but that has been as I said just like twice in 2000+ mi.

it pops out of gear after you release the clutch. I'm going to say its happened at least 20 times in the last few days.

I plan on taking it in but it may be 2 weeks before I can. This week I'm getting ready for vacation and next week I will be on vacation. Its kind funny because I bought this car so that I wouldnt have an problems on break and now im having even more problems than with my other car.

another fix is to put two zipties around the linkage cables to get out the slack. Thats what they did to my friends car. good luck getting your hand over there though i couldn't.

the exact thing happened to me but it was my 5th gear, problem as told to me was that the transmission, that is had not been assembled correctly, took damn near a month for them to put in a new tranny due to the gear seazing against the pressure plate ,very low miles also. "im not a techinical person so be kind"
