Slave Cyl. Leaking

I installed a six puck clutch in Jan. and found the slave cyl. to be leaking from the seal, replaced it, and a day later it is leaking again. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Could the clutch be off balance somehow causing the leak around the seal? Loose fitting after the install? Man, this sucks. I may just put the stock back in.

After I had my clutch replaced over a year ago, the fluid weeped out of the bellhousing for a few days after the disassemble/reassemble. I was afraid I had a leak then, but it turned out to be whatever accumulated during the process.

Are you loosing level in the master cyl?

Have you opened it up to see if the slave is leaking this time?

Could be the flex pipe?

Green LNF slave or older weaker LSJ?

Just some thoughts.

Original slave with six puck was green, the slave installed yesterday was gm black(I think black). It was done at the dealer. Master cyl. lost half it's fluid. Spot on the ground about the size of a coffee saucer. I could hear a rattling sound when the pedal was pressed in.(faint sound, but noticeable). Maybe slave is being overextended?

Have not looked at it yet.

Do not use the zzp adjustable to far extended......... Clutch wise i dont see it being the issue since it has to be flat and aligned with the friction disc and pressure plate. Ure t.b is warrantied. I am assuming u got a bad t
b again.........

The LNF one is green, they used the weaker LSJ one IIRC.

Are you sure? I believe the stock slave that was removed was black when I got my parts back after install.

No, I'm not sure, sorry. I'd have to go in the attic and see what I took out of mine. I'm old and a feeb.

Yeah, I'm getting pretty old myself. I'm at work till 11:30, so I'll try and look inside the bell housing and see where the leak is coming from tomorrow.

Guess we need the part numbers for research then. I'll climb up in the attic Sat. and look at my original OEM one.

The new LNF 3.82 trans I have has a green one. I have an old LSJ trans downstairs Ill look at it. Well they both have green ones so I would guess that the black one is the upgraded one.

This is the one that was just installed. I am getting a leak from it not even 24 hours after installation. I will find out tomorrow what the deal is, I hope. This problem is getting old, just want it to go away.

I just remembered I took apart that 2009 F35 about a month ago that had a cracked case. It had the black one in it and the part number is stamped right on it. This one looks to be intact with no fluid on it. I wouldnt use it anyhow. 24242805 part number. 2009 must be the first year they used that one.

I replaced my clutch over winter, and replaced my slave, and it leaked, i did everything by the book. turned out it was a bad one from GM and he said its happened before. So I got a new one and everything worked fine the second time.

Wonder what the odds are of it happening twice in a row? I guess anything is possible with my luck!
