ok, i just put in my stage 3+ spec clutch and light weight flywheel and it chatters like a ****. is this normal? it only does it when the clutch is cold, once i get a few starts it goes away, and no im not racing or launching hard, the instructions say to break it in for 500 miles. i have 150 miles on it so far and it seems to be getting a little better maybe??? does this sound right???

 

mine chatters a lil bit not much. it will fade once you start breaking it in.... where is Luke....

 

My exedy did the same thing. It's normal, it should go away within 500-1000 miles.

It shouldn't get worse, it should go away, after initial break in. Also I hope you cleaned the flywheel surface where the disc rides? Everything needs to be very clean on the install, no grease or oil...

 

absolutly, i cleaned the flywheel and pressure plate with brake clean.

 

I had a Centerforce Clutch a lighter flywheel, And i heard nothing like that untill 2 weeks after i had it installed. Now i hear it when the clutch is let out and while in gear driving. It only goes away when i push in the clutch. Any one try that ??

 

sounds like something is wrong with the pressure plate. or maybe u didn't break it in right. you shouldnt hear it while you are in gear only while letting off the clutch.
