Spec or Exedy
Hey guys got a 05 COBALT SS S/C and want to know what you think is a better clutch an exedy stage 2 or the spec stage 2+. Money is not a deciding factor, and I plan on putting down around 300 whp when done upgrading. Please only respond if you know what you are talking about! Thank You!!!!!

i had a SPEC stage 3 in my '91 volvo 740turbo. never any problems, and it never slipped till the day i got the cobalt. i had some ridiculous torque in that turbo brick, mustve been around 240-260ft/lbs, so i played it safe and got stage 3. I highly recommend it.

I believe maybee you give centerforce an oppurtunity to come out with a clutch for our vehicles i have used them in the past and it is a very good unit they have. Just my input. but whatever you decide goodluck on and i wish you and your upgrades the best.

someone that had an srt warned me about the spec clutches blowing apart and burning up so i did some reading and there are alot of bad stories all over the place about the company, so i sent mine back.. i'll wait for a better brand to come out... here's a pic i found
swapping the clutch is a serious job and i don't want to spend 8 hours doing it and having the damn thing blow apart on me two months later

I'm not saying they make the best, but a lot of people around here have them, and never have problems with them... No clutch lasts forever.

Use some common sense people, if all Spec clutches gave out after 2K miles Spec wouldn't be in business anymore.

ive installed a few spec clutches in some mustangs and one in a camaro and they have had no problem with them. The problem is in the fact that some one will buy a clutch that is not rated for the power they are making. Clutched are not something you just drop in. spend the money buy one rated for more than you have. don't go over kill either. did an install on a guys mustang who bought a puck clutch said he didn't care drove it once and then complained that it was to grabby. buy wisely. my votes for spec. (personal preference)
