spec stage 2+

I just have a quick question can i use a stock flywheel with the spec stage 2+ clutch?

I did on my 2.4L. Stock flywheel and SPEC stg 3+ clutch.

Yeah, you just have to get your stock flywheel resurfaced though.

If you tranny is already opened, i'd jsut get a new lightened one. Why mess with resurfacing it. also i'd advise AWAY from spec, ive had nothing but trouble and STILL haveing problems....but im a 2.2

i had problems with early models of the spec stage 2+ clutch, (outer bolts were too tall and rubbed the housing and prematurely glazed the clutch). With the second one i had i think the master cylinder went bad, but we still got a replacement from spec yet again and settled with a stage 3+. I love the clutch now, engagement is a bit quicker and strong as hell, its still very streetable.

But i don't remember getting the flywheel resurfaced, Is it mandatory? because on all my replacements we just give it a 500-1000 mile wear in period (stage 3+ needed almost 1000 miles) and it works fine.

The stage 3+ by SPEC is the best clutch they offer IMO for the cobalt.

On exedy's site it says they have a HyperSingle set up for the F23
