Steering Problem and Squeaky Breaks?
I took my car in (07 Cobalt SS 2.4l) to get brakes worked on three times to fix squeaking. First two times they claim it's glazing, try machining rotors and/or scuffing rotors (maybe pads too), but the car squeaks on the way home. Third time I insist they make sure they're scuffing both rotors AND pads as well as anti squeak spray if they have it. No squeak now, but is it maybe just temporary due to the spray (if even used)? Is this a common problem? Would I really be glazing them in the winter in Minnesota (it's cold)? Or do I just need ceramic pads? They might cut me a deal if I come back due to the fact they failed repeatedly.
Also, they gave me a 2009 chevy malibu as a loaner, and driving it, it drove very steadily at high speeds. It seemed to keep its direction better and not be swayed by the road as much. Is that the car's weight or does my car perhaps have a steering issue? I think I might be able to turn the wheel a little too much before it starts turning much. I do drive the car somewhat hard in the turns and such, so I imagine it's likely got a problem
