strange auto tranny noise? help?

strange auto tranny noise? help?
ok, so im getting a ticking/whistling noise in my G5 GT auto with 52K miles.
its seems to be coming from right behind the firewall, it only happens when the engine is under 1/3 load or more & in gear driving, it will not do it if I put it in neutral and rev as im driving or when im parked and rev it. im ******* stumped.
torque converter? idk.
this is probably pointless with out a recording of the sound but I cant get it to recored!!
P.S. the noise is similar to the the noise that the blower motor for the HVAC makes when it goes bad...

I had the carrier bearing give out on mine about that mileage. The seals gave out after hitting a pot hole and they dried up. When the bearings wore dry and the transmission was under load it whined like a bad wheel bearing.
