Well are you looking for a short THROW shifter? Or a stub shifter that is closer to the base of the shifter?

TWM Motorsports ( a vendor here) makes one.

indeed. there are actually a few short throws on the market, any that fit a 2.2 SHOULD fit a 2.4. (the trans and linkage are the same, but the console is slightly different, so there is a chance that one may not fit under the 2.4 dash, but that's not likely.)

the TWM comes highly recomended.

looking for both shorter throw and shorter in height :P and this may sound like a dorkish high school thing to say, but its for my mom's SS sedan (she's driven my cav with the b&m and wants one for her car lol)

so I already have access to a b&m one for a cobalt ss, should I give it a try to see if it would work? or should i get a different one? I'm probalby going to give it a try, its always fun to make things work when they say it wont :P

took a look at the shifter in the car yesterday, it looks like the same as the one in my cav, so i think i may have to experiment and see if it will fit.

a short shifter fitting a 00-05 cavalier will fit the 2.4 cobalt, just take off the reverse lock out
