Transmission

So probably a stupid question but still want to make sure before buying the transmission. I bought a 06 with the f35 4.05 LSD and need a trans a local scrap yard has a f35 3.82 non lsd with low mileage would I be able to just use the scrap yard transmission or is there differences in it that I couldn't ? Thank everyone for the help in advance I know nothing about the cars and am just trying to learn

YoU could use the scrap yard. The only difference is the final drive gear as well as not havingthe lsd.

No lsd would make the car feel different and handel different in The cornors

The final drive gear being different might give you a wrong speed on the speedo but I dont think it will. It will defintly make the car acceloete different. I know gm chnagwd the fi al gear foe the lnf to did al with turbo lag and keep it in the power band better

Ok thank you for the input I talked to a trans shop near me and they said that it wouldn't work but that didn't sound right to me so I wanted to ask around. I got to put like 10 miles on the car and the clutch slips really bad so either way if it works Ill be happy with it.

You can totally swap them. I have an Cobalt lnf and I swapped the 3.82 for the 4.05. Same thing with no modifications necessary

the 4.05 would keep it in the band better. This was done for fuel economy and emissions mostly. They were able to do this because of how torquey the lnf is from stock form. It will accelerate to passing speed without down shifting from 5th pretty effortlessly even with the tall gear ratio.
