Weird noise while driving, more so turning left

A few weeks ago I noticed a weird thumping noise when driving, which increased with vehicle speed. It sounds like it comes from the right side, and I've looked under the car a few times checking suspension parts. Today I pulled a wheel and checked that, it was fine, and the axle/wheel bearing which was tight. I did notice some gunk around the right axle and straight connecting axle disconnect (see pic) I was then thinking maybe this bearing is crapping out and making noise. Car is 06 ss/sc.

Usually hollow thumping noises are tires. Bearings usually make a howling or moaning noise. When its louder on left turns its normally the right wheel bearing. It may just be torquing the right axle support bearing making it louder. If it is louder on acceleration its probably the right axle support bearing. You can be a hundred percent sure by putting the car on a lift or jacking up the front end, and run the car on the lift or jack stands. Hold a steathacope to the support bearing and the wheel bearing cases see which one is louder. You can buy a probe steathascope at most autoparts stores. Or u can put a long screw driver on the bearing case and put the handle to your ear. Be carfull when running the car on lifts!!!

Thanks for the reply, When I had the wheel off I was checking the tread wear for anything weird, or something stuck in the tread like tar, but it was clean. Even driving in 1st rolling slowly I can hear the noise, so I think it is that support bearing. I have to try the running it in the air but I'll get my dad or someone to help out.

I ran the car in the air today, noise was barely audible, but felt some vibrations in the car. I couldn't tell if it was the LSD or the bearing. Anyways I have an appointment at the garage for friday morning.
