My car shifts smoothly into every gear but 5th, i just drove it for over 2hrs this morning and did not have any problems. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas

 

try adjusting the shift linkage, take the cup holders out and it is the cable on the right. Unclip it and adjust it until you get proper engagement.

 

Are you sure its the one on the right. I remember reading something that the left and rights motion of the shifter was the cable on the left. But i will try both in the morning and see where i am. All the gears shift fine, but when i try to go to fifth, it feels as if i hit a brick wall
