so I was driving today and noticed a clacking sound from under my car everytime I drive off from a complete stop.. got home jacked my car up and noticed a whole of of play and clacking sounds everytime I use my hands and rotate any of the wheels, noise seems to be comeing from the driver side, right where the shaft from the axle enters the gear box.. I think the noise is coming from inside the gear box. anyone have a clue what this means?

Mine does the same thing just keep beating it

 

THere's typically alot of slack in manual transmissions. Don't worry about it.

 

dont think its normal, its a real bad clacking sound every time i drive off or come off the gas< like as the pressure goes on and off the gear box
