wont go into gear

wont go into gear

hey guys my nephew has a 2006 ss cobalt and for some reason his car wont go into gear.the shifter is verys sloppy moving in the forward back position but left to right feels right.the clutch pedal feels fine and i went under the car to make sure everything is still connected which it is.

yes stock shifter.its like the shifter isnt connected.i pulled the cup holder out and i can see 2 rods and they are connected both inside the car and under the car but it forward back is like as if they werent connected

I believe there's a thread in the How-To section on replacing it. Not to sound like an ass but if you do a search it should come up...

i dont know much about these cars and i did use the search for roll pin but didnt find what i needed.thanks

its a pain in the ass depending on how many places its broken in.. mine was in 3.. lol

dont worry bout takin the tire off like in the how to thing. you dont need to.
