Maybe. Although it says in your sig you have a 2.2 so it seemed clear to me you were talking f23. Even the f35 one lists for over a grand.

well he sure as **** isn't going to tell you it's a good differential, obviously I can't see him trying it out nor promoting any cheap product in general.

All I'm saying is if someone tried it and said it was garbage, then guess what? It's garbage. But, if none of you try it and go by what other people say (they never tried it either), than someone needs to pull their head out of their ass. I don't care if jesus himself told me "this product is crap", I would say "well jesus, did you ever try it?"....... twas I thought.

His brake kit? Cheapest (and best) on the market. He's not going to say it's a good differential if it's not a good differential. You don't have to TRY it to know that there are major questions concerning it's design and the welfare of your transmission.

If you want to be the guinea pig, by all means do it.

If it were anyone else on this site saying "Hey, you know what, that's crap." I'd be skeptical. I'm sorry but if someone who knows their **** (and is smart enough to NOT put it in their car anyway) says to me "You're better off going with product x than this hunk of ****." Then I'll save up and go with another product.

if product x=$1000, and hunk of junk= $350.... I think I'm gonna be the guinea pig on this one, I know the civics have had some experiment with this differential. John powell is beast, but I'm a masterdebater although I don't tell anyone to use a certain type of lotion.

I personally would not buy it though, if anyone cared to ask. It gets mixed reviews.

Meh. It all depends on what you do with your car. I personally am not going to risk a diff/tranny failure at the track because I was too cheap to buy the right parts for the job. With the prices out there on G85 transmissions and take-out Quaifes anyone who chooses the unknown is nothing short of a *******.

i had no problem with your post until the end

trying the unknown is essential for any development in any automotive world (unless conventional theory contradicts it in every way of course, which is not the case here)
its disappointing to see members post things like that

I'm saying price of Quaife (proven product) vs OBX (virtually no Cobalt results, and shaky reputation elsewhere). Not existing product vs new innovation. That's something different.

I agree that trying the unknown is essential for development of NEW products, but this isn't a new product. OBX differentials have been around longer than Cobalts have. It's not like ZZP is on here saying "Hey guys, we've developed this new option for a differential and we're looking for testers."

After really reading into the OBX diff. WOW. How the @#$^ are they still in business. They're worse than JBP! I gotta re-find the H22 Prelude one. IE crashed and I lost my tabs though and it's not coming up in my history. Guy installed OBX diff, did one pull, tranny grenaded. Mechanic removed the diff and found that every single bolt inside the housing was completely stripped. OBX refused to cover any of the damages claiming there was no proof of defect.

I looked into these for a while, the reviews are mixed but there are alot of guys have good sucess with running these. There is a how-to somewhere to upgrade the washers or soemthing? I remember something like that.

I ended up grenading the spider gears in my F23 and then found another F23 with a Quaife LSD already installed for a VERY good price, so I jumped on it since I needed a trans anways.

You could always just Lincoln lock it, its Free! I know a few guys running Lincoln locked diffs on the street in FWD transmisions with no issues (other than very tight turns). This was my plan before I blew my trans.
