08 SS/TC Dynotune Results

Got my car dynoed yesterday

It has

Drop in filter
ZZP catless 3 inch downpipe
Muffler Delete
Injen Hotside Piping

Plus the dyno tune on 20lbs.

Since the graph is smaller it made 293 WHP and 352 WTQ. The run before it made 295 WHP 352 WTQ @ 20PSI.

DynoJet but I feel the dyno is a little tight. My GTO with longtubes catless mids mufflers and a Dynotune only made 349 WHP on the same dyno

The car wouldn't hold boost all the way through the RPM band. It would taper to 20PSI around 5K.

Wow, nice numbers.. It's cool to see a thread with dyno #'s and PICS TO MATCH!!!!! (Imagine that?)

Seems to me there's a guy with a red cobalt that can't manage the same.

Thanks for sharing.

that is alot of torque though. your was tuned by hptuners correct. i know by hptuners that you should be able to get at least 23psi peak and hold around 21-22psi

It was spiking @ 24 or 25PSI holding 22 until around 5k and would waddle its happy ass to like 19.4 one run then 19.5 the next then like 19.8. the next then the next one was at like 19.5

What I am getting at is that it was @ 19.X 4 or 5 or 6 runs in a row.

It might be that I am still on the stock catback. This is my first turbo car and since the turbo is exhaust driven, IMO I would think that after a nice 3 inch catback it will hold 22 PSI through redline.

Also the car falls off @ 6500 RPMS, so for MY car there is no need to rev it until 7k Unless you either are terrible at shifting or you are trying to win a race @ the top of 4th.

IMO Torque is so high because of the boost spike when the car is punched. If you look it JUMPS to like 350WTQ and slowly levels off around 330.

One thing I want people to notice is that my dyno graph looks very linear due to the tune/tuner, He is good.

Notice how it doens't look like some of the dyno sheets you see on here where they look like you gave 2 crayons to your 4 year old son and told him to draw a hill.

that is very true on the 3in part. i have hahn 3in no and you will be amazed how much the turbo wakes up. you can actually here the turbo when you rev it up and you can actually here the bypass. my car is 3in turbo back. i just dont have a intercooler or cai. def good numbers though. i will put mine up once i get mine tuned here in the next couple of weeks

What is the smoothing set on? I can't quite read it in your picture. Also what is the correction set to? SAE? Can't make that out either.

It was set to STD smoothing 5.

The only time I have ever seen that dyno spit out SAE numbers is when its 60* outside which is like 1 or 2 months out of the year.

Like I said before I have used this dyno a good amount and 295 WHP is not shabby for 20PSI through the stock catback.

Maybe in the next year or 2. I have a GTO that I race and it needs some new parts. So the Cobalt will not have any money thrown at it until at least April.
