08 SS/TC Stock and HP tuned
On Friday afternoon I took a ride down to a friends shop (www.raceprovenmotorsports.net) to get my car tuned. The shop is mainly an LSX based shop but they do work on Cobalts when they are not building 8 second Z06's. The dyno is a dynojet and all runs were made using SAE and a smoothness of 5.
Bone stock the car put down 243whp and 234wtq. It was pulling timing for knock and running in the 15s for air/fuel around peak torque. Simply adding low end fuel bumped the torque up to 252wtq and did away with the knock. I'm kinda shocked about how much timing was being pulled on a stock car. Alright, enough playing around.
Tuned it put down 291whp and 311wtq. Maxing the DAL table would only net 20.1psi...not that im complaining I'm assuming this is because the car has no work done to it where others that are getting 22psi do?
This is by far the best bang for the buck since Nitrous. The car is an absolute blast to drive now. Before it wouldn't spin the tires in first gear...now it's spinning in 2nd gear

well this answers my question of whether or not Race Proven can tune Cobalts.
rock on man
whoa!!! i just remembered something, haha. a friend of mine just had his LS1 GTO dyno tuned there a couple months ago, he showed me a pic & vid of his car on the dyno. did they move the dyno? i thought they only did RWD. haha if you have a pic of your car on the dyno, that would be great.

The dyno is still in the same place. I think the whole "we only do rwd" thing is to avoid the Hondas coming to the shop. They laughed about how quiet the car is. They could still hold a conversation while it was on the dyno
