LNF Dyno

Got my 09 Cobalt tuned at Excessive Autosports in Sioux Falls today, Conservative tune on 91 octane. Very happy with how it runs. Mods are k&n sri, catless dp, zzp intercooler and charge piping. 265whp and 294tq

Well I'd definitely agree with the conservative part, GMS1 should make more than that.

Highlighted part explains it all, probably their first time working with a cobalt, wouldn't trust many with the job, ZZP, PWerks and a few tuners on here.

I'd sell my car if that's what it made tuned.

So you were 20whp under average in stock form. That's not near as bad. You can step up the boost to 22 or 23 and not have issues.

It picked up 40whp and 85ft lbs of torque. I assume its how the dyno reads. I don't get caught up in the numbers too much, as long as it drives well and is reliable. And I will run the quarter mile with this setup and see how it does

I think others are still correct. With a good tune you should be getting 60whp and 100ftlbs above stock. Especially with intake and downpipe.

But go to the 1/4 and compare the difference. You may surprise us.

I agree that its low, what should a 265whp lnf trap in the quarter, on a not so great track?

Looks like the dyno reads low, I think thats a pretty good tune. Looks like you made ~48 whp gain and ~76 wtrq.

Thats alittle more than GMS1.... so I dont know why everyone is saying GMS1 makes more...

Nice tune for 91 octane. How much boost did they set it to? 20 psi - 22 psi? I bet it pulls so much harder than it did lol. Probably feels like night and day now

Im actually considering a retune for my car because its kind of an off on switch now. Theres no happy medium where I can hold a partial throttle without the boost swinging from 14psi- 20 psi.... Cars fast at 100% throttle but I think I want something that will feel more like something from factory, meaning I can hold the throttle and at any percent (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%,etc...) and it wont get jerky on me

I'd say with good driver mod you could potentially knock half a second off your quarter.

Did this happen at the new shop or old one on 10th street? I know they are in the process of moving.

They work on a lot more than what most would expect of them

This is kind of nice to know. They tuned my twinscew ss/sc and got 350/302 out of it. Pretty stout if this is in fact a stingy dyno.

How long ago was this? Those are good numbers, have you drag raced with it at all?

roughly a year and a half ago. I have not raced it on the new setup. Thunder valley is the worst track on the planet. I always wondered if just nobody could drive around here until one of my friends ran his stock 08 r32 (awd, dct trans and launch control) an entire second slower than their factory rated time. I do a lot of roll racing.

I agree that its pretty bad, I managed a 13.8 on stock tune and catless downpipe there. My buddies r/t charger was running mid/high 14s there

Alright, Well i made a few passes May 16, at Thunder Valley in Marion SD. Need some stickier tires, and trans mounts installed. The kumho ecsta 4x all seasons aren't the best for this. Wheel spin, and wheel hop, through 1st and 2nd gear. Best run was a 14.0 at 106. My 60' didn't read correctly, but i was averaged 2.4 60 foot on my other passes.

well you found the big weakness- traction. My car off the line was faster stock, as it had the torque limited. After bolt ons and tuning, and about 140ft/lbs of torque added, it wont hook up for anything. You get it back down track when you can use the horsepower/torque, but your 60 ft times will suck on anything but full slicks.
I routenly run 2.2-2-4 60's on 245/45-17 nitto 555r's. 2ND gear burnout to warm the tires, boost limited to 15psi in 1st gear. Spin from 4,000-6,500 1st, and the same for 2nd. 3rd gear is fun though.

Traction and launch issues is why I havent done the 1/4
