low dyno results

I have an 09 SS TC with GMS1 and K&N SRI and I got it dynoed (don't have scans yet but will post as soon as I do) but the numbers were about 222 whp and 230 lb-ft wtq. it was on a mustang dyno and I hear mustang dynos usually read 10-15% lower but that would be 247 - 261 whp which I think is still low for a GMS1 with K&N SRI. any idea why they were so low? could it be the winter gas?

sounds like their dyno isn't calibrated right or you have major issues lol

lol I'm hoping it's just winter gas and dyno. I know winter gas has a little less energy and a member on here said their dyno reads lower so there's a good chance the car is just fine but I want to see if anyone had a similar issue in case it's otherwise lol

prob just low readin dyno bro that's why dyno numbers don't mean **** other than tracking your own progress if you go back to the same one. only thing i'd check is your spark plugs if you haven't done them in awhile, and it may be knocking on winter gas also.

yea, hopefully. I just got dynoed to compare before/after the catback exhaust I got to see how much difference it makes but when I saw that the numbers are that low I was a little worried

lol don't get hung up on the numbers they mean ****. Me and domestic_rush both made similiar numbers on the same dyno. i made 268 with just gms1 tune and he made 271 with gms1 and K&N SRI. i'm sure on the same dyno your numbers would be the same. all dynos are different.

lol yea I wasn't hoping for any numbers but when the numbers came out that low I was just worried that the cat was actually plugged like he said. the car drives great though and even better with the catback and I didn't feel a loss of power since I got it which was a year and over 18k km ago. I doubt the cat has been plugged for that long or it would have started to smell pretty bad or at least trigger a CEL

GMS1 doesn't reeeaaallllly get awesome numbers...some people get kinda high, I had GMS1 with catless dp and airbox mod with zzp intake tube and only made like 260ish with like 320 torque. Now after HPTune I'm at 295whp and 368 wtq on a dynojet. Seems kinda low in the hp, but its definitely not bad....lol...

what mph do you trap in the 1/8th and 1/4 mile... that will tell you if the car is okay...

While I agree you should not get hung up on numbers because every dyno is different and it's true Mustang dynos read a little low, but are you sure they flashed in the proper tune? Those numbers are consistent with bone stock numbers. See what kind of boost you're running, that should tell the story as to whether you are tuned ok.

I checked boost and it easily held 18-19 psi and hit just above 20 psi but didn't have enough room to see if it holds and that's at 36 F outside. I was told that might be alright but I'm waiting for the temp to go up and see. still haven't taken it to the strip yet. will do when I put the summer rims and tires back on.

yea that's low for a custom tune.. you're definitely making more than that man, especially if you beat a 300+ whp ms3. i'm considering trying a dynojet but i may just go to the strip and not dyno again because if the numbers at the strip are good, i'm happy.. won't care what numbers come out of either dyno lol

He's tuned. Y me, and there's no way he's that low.. even on low boost and 13* timing. He's showing 32ve min and 36maf min. so yeah.
