How I'd love to switch to E85. It's a haul through some of Milwaukee's worst neighborhoods to get to a station that supplies E85. Not really worth it when I still DD my Cobalt.

And only one person was able to do it on the stock long block.

hit 300+whp many times on 91 octane...although it's nothing that would be reliable for many miles.
being that E85 is being used, there is much more available in both hp and torque.

I have always said that E85 is like magic for the LSJ...

Back then, people used to think the LSJs couldnt take more than 300whp without needing internals because everyone was hitting that number (or less) with the stock blower using 2.5 and 2.6 pulleys, making a bunch of heat, and blowing pistons in the process. This was back in the early days

I joined in 2007. Shaun and are the the only ones that I know of who did it on the stock long block. IE, no cams, no valve springs, no neutral balanced shafts, no forged pistons.

o6blackg85 - 296whp
06black - No. Did 304 on the H62
Area47 - 295whp
WSFrazier - No.
04redline0124 - No. 314 on nitrous
04redline (shaunmcdee) - Yes! 311whp pulling out all the stops.

Is there anyone on that list I have missed?

Like who? It does not matter if they are not longer active on the forum. Let me know and I will do the research.

If they did it on the forum, there will be evidence.

loll, i dont think you're understanding that im not sure who they were. They were posting vids of their fly-bys and such when i first joined the forum, and they didnt stick around long

(many of them blew piston #4 from running such inefficient setups on 2.5" pulleys, but back then thats how people made power. They just thought the stock longblock had weak internals).

There were plenty of people over 275whp, and a few over 300whp. I remember trying to memorize their formulas for "high horsepower LSJs", but i didnt much care for their account names. I lurked a bit more back then than i do these days

maybe ask shaun? he was around then, and being that he was one of the people to do it, he might remember

Your not understanding what I am trying to say.

It did not happen as often as people think. Not on the stock long block and not on the M62.

That is a forum rumor.

wow i haven't seen hunter post in forever...

eb is right tho it did happen in the older days. not many were on forums or cared to talk about it, but from my knowledge none of the old heads (without nitrous) ever made over 300whp without internals...

I've already explained this to him. You're wasting your time/energy.
