TVS dyno Hpt and Trifecta

Took a vacation out to Cali last week. While we were there met up with 100% meth to do some try out some tuning on the rollers. Also got a chance to dyno my Trifecta tune the same day.

In the end both tunes made the same hp. We were both shocked to find out so.

Trifecta made 340whp/283wtrq

100% Meth hpt made 341whp/287wtrq

Got to play with different afr's and found our car made more power running leaner af 12.5-12.9 wot afr.

Was able to raise the rpm higher and get to 75k and bring the idc down to 105% on the 80's where the TVS makes power. I need to upgrade the fuel system more.

All in all happy with results for being simple bolt ons and stock long block. Mods are:

TVS, 2.9, 80's, E85, Dw300, modded K&N, Cti header, 3" catless Dp, 2.25 Megan catback, Griffin, Gm dual pass, Opt b, intake phenolic spacer

I thought there is some reason these cars go to 120%....

I run 108% peak on the GM stg2 tune...

Something's definitely not right if you're seeing 108% idc on a simple gms2 setup. Either the config you're using isn't setup correctly or something's seriously not right somewhere.

Either way, anything past a 95% idc you run the severe risk of running the injector static. The basic rule of thumb is to try to keep idc's under 85%.

Had a similar set up last year
To keep it safe we left the redline a 7k
Made 330/282 on a 2.7
Id1000s will get you to where you need

LOL yeah I know man it's higher then I like but I like revving high as you can see its where the TVS made its peak power. As the car sits. I'm maxed out and need more fuel.

Haha I know going to 75k isn't super impressive, but The more we revved the TVS, the more power it made. My end goal is to get to 8-85k with the required mods for it. Thanks man.

I'm not entirely sure the cat back is. Maybe the resonator or muffler might. Mr. B posted a nice exhaust link that showed cfm flow versus piping size. I've seen a couple peeps make a little more then me on a 2.25. But its not staying on forever. Once I port the head and do cams I will get a bigger catback. I have big goals for the car. looking for that 450+whp mark. Injectors are coming next year, I'm getting a BRFS next to get more from the 80's and I'll play with pulley sizes for keeping the blower efficient.

Thank you sir. Currently I'm still on the Trifecta tune and yes in Tucson its around mid 12's afr here at wot. We had drivabilty issues trying to switch to the Hpt tune that Steven couldn't figure out. car kept bucking bad and o2 sensors stopped reading. Gonna try and figure it out and switch to HPT later

I just wasn't happy with a 7k limit. I love the extra rpm. Helps me a lot in mexico runs. 1k's are nice but I plan on going bigger :-)

Thanks man. It was fun to be on the dyno and try different things with the car to see what it liked. I'm glad to know a lot more about our car and where it sits and happy since I have a lot left to do.

Next is BRFS, more fuel, springs, ATI, balnce shaft delete and rev it higher.

I want a TVS again. I don't think you'll be making 450 whp without nitrous.

Its fun. I like being different and staying with the blower. Pulls nice.

Since more and more stuff has been coming out lately and more builds are starting to get done and on the rollers, I'm still confident with the proper set up and using tailor made parts for the car we can hit the 400-450 whp mark off spray.

I set some kinda goal just to keep pushing myself and not give up like others have.

On that simple set up we were thinking anything between 330-350. So we we're on par.

I'm hoping once I upgrade the fuel system, pulley down and throw some simple parts on it with the new exhaust we can hit 360-370 completely stock long block.

Not a problem

We should dial in your afr perfectly with the wideband hooked into hptuners next time

Sounds like a plan man. Now that the Redline is running again we can finish up the tune. I'll try and get the wideband connected or just make a video for you lol

What other mods did you have with 2.7. I have one but not sure if I should use it. Have headers dp catback Zzp s3 h/e and an aem Cai on 91.have duel pass but it's not on yet. Oh and running60lb injectors.
Getting tuned and dynod by fj performance this weekend hopefully.

Its header not headers, sorry pet peve. As for your 2.7 don't use it yet until you build a better/stronger fuel system. Even on 91 oct your idc will be to high. My suggestion for you to be happy is to run the biggest pulley you have and keep the blower efficient and iats down i.e. the 3.15 it comes with.

The TVS is a beast and needs lots of fuel and octane to make power, and will be hard to make good power from 91. Timing is key. Don't be upset when you go and get yours #'s. I'm guessing you'll be around 300 whp if the tuner knows wht he is doing. If you can do e85 try meth to help you out.

80's on gas and a return fuel system will be better and allow you to run the smaller pulleys
