Should slide in through back seat opening. Going to be a close one though. I need to take some more precise measurements.

If not, that's what they made big ******' hammers for.

are you sure you can fit 30" wide in the trunk?

it will forsure go through the trunk lid opening but you might have to have it sitting right up against the back wall

I'm going to make a box out of cardboard with the same outside dimensions so I can see if it'll fit. No sense in building something if it doesn't go in the car. I lifted some max dimensions from a thread on this site that will fit in the trunk, and I built smaller then those.

I should be able to get some measurements tomorrow and verify.

EDIT: Net is 2.5 cu ft but gross is 3.46 cu ft.

I had an older installer buddy at Circuit who built a box similar to this... Lets just say it was obnoxiously ridiculously loud. and that may still be an understatement.

Let's just say I'm mildly insane. We're pushing 300 watt RMS to this sub yet it will probably blows most peoples 1000+ watt systems away. Yay for 8 gauge speaker wire! lol

hahaha exactly! I don't remember what speaker he had, but I know he was only running 500 or so watts. I honestly don't think a 1500 watt system was able to compete... and what was even funnier is that he didn't paint the box or do any cosmetic work. He just tossed it in the trunk of that grand prix, tossed the amp in and power'd 'er up!

Overkill? Not really. You have to eliminate all places that can cause inefficiency.

Most people have there 1000 watt 2 ohm amp hooked up in series to 2x 4 ohm dual voice coil subs in sealed enclosure that's 1/2 the required size.

Do you see what I'm getting at?

*awaiting some numbers from a verified meter*

I forsee a 138.5 maybe a 140 if you crack the door at its peak.

That's box will definitely take out a lot of prefabs w/2 12's and 1000watt amps...and 1000watt system with a properly built set-up...eehhh. People don't understand if they'd actually just get a properly built box their systems would be so much better.

Cool, non the less...I like to see more audio stuff

I hate to be the only one that see's a problem here but hey its in my nature

Take it from someone who has there subs facing up, don't do it!
My subs are in a tub in the spare tire well, and even with 2 layers of sound deadner on the bottom and 3 on the top that back deck lid rattles like an S.O.B.

Other than that, you seem to have a good idea of what you want and how to get there, I'm just trying to warn you about the sub facing up, face it to the rear, face it to the front, just don't face it up, don't port it up either....trust me.
