05 headunit with 07 or 08 headunit

I have an 05 chevy cobalt with the cruise control and everything, I want to upgrade my headunit. I really want a diffrent one but bestbuy says its to much work and alot of money. So I wanted to know if I bought an 07 or 08 unit can I use it so I can plug my Ipod up.

Not without a hell of a lot of work. They are not easily interchangeable.

x2. Its been done before, but if i recall it took a lot of work and some serious Tech2 knowledge. And even then some buttons didnt work correctly. Best bet is to buy an aftermarket HU if you wanna upgrade.

Theres a sticky at the top of the page that should explain everything on what you'll need. Since yours in an 05 its prob the easiest. If the sticky dont help just ask im sure someone will gladly help.
