06 key fob stopped working

i have my orginal key fob for the car, and it doesnt work anymore. I put a new battery in and it still wont work. Everytime i lock my car and open it with the key in the door my alarm goes off, its so annoying. How do I fix this without a trip to the dealer?

There's a how-to on here on how to fix it, requires re-soldering the inside of the fob. That's the only other solution other than buying a new fob and having the dealer re-program.

Also aside from the fact that the connection posts may need re soldered take it apart and clean the little rubber thingys on the buttons that make contact with the connectors on the circuit board with some rubbing alcohol, that fixed mine!

i had this problem on my 06 ss. I re-soldered the keyfob and nothing. So i did some research and someone gave me advice to pull out the radio fuse and turn the car on and off (making sure the radio is not working), wait 30 seconds (car off) and replace the fuse, then press unlock and lock on the key fob over and over until to works. I was skeptical at first but i had nothing to loose.

I shat a brick when it worked.....

ours broke the solder joint too, I haven't fixed it yet with new solder, but a small folded piece of paper placed behind the battery has enough pressure on the clip to make it have contact, and it still works.

Ive had the same problem as well. My key fab wouldnt work at all. And the reason was the magnetic patches on the buttons that connect to the board wore off. All i did was super glue tin foil to the rubber part and it works perfectly! I did it like 8 months ago and it hasnt stop working sense.

******* bump, but this worked for me.

I tried cleaning the back of the buttons with alcohol, worked kinda, I had to hold the button down for an hour and then it unlocked.

Was about to try the whole radio fuse thing, then I saw you put tin foil (aluminum foil in my case) and so I tried that first. It worked! I put it on all 4 buttons (lock, unlock, trunk and alarm).

Thanks for idea man!

Well I want try all that but what about if my key fob doesnt work at times? Lets say 90% of the time I try to open it and it works the other 10% it doesnt? What could be my problem maybe the bcm? I already replace the fob battery and im about to re solder th3 connections although they look good. Also when I start my car well the alrm went off and the radio wont work then after a few miles it turns on and the fob starts to work too

I see this is a month old now, but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. My original key fobs on my 05 stopped working this summer. They had new batteries and the contacts had been re soldered. I found suggestions somewhere to buy new button pads for the key fobs. You can go to ebay and search the number on the back of the fob. You should get all kinds of results. I picked up 2 new button fobs for about 7 bucks. My key fobs work great now.
