06 ss remote start

I'm trying to install a remote management system in my 06 ss. The goal is to be able to control car functions, door locks, trunk, horn, start, from a remote web browser. I have everything working except for remote start. I can't even hot wire this car and get it to start. I have already purchased an xpresskit dlpk that learns the keys resistance code. All the other functions of the device, door locks and trunk, are working fine. Looking at the ignition barrel there is a yellow and a brown wire that are used in the start sequence. From what it have read, if you apply 12v to the yellow wire the accessory is turned on and the brown wire loses voltage the engine should crank. For the life of me I can't get the engine to crank. I'm not using a remote start kit as I am basically building my own. If I knew how to wire up push button start I could make it work and manage the security myself. I want to be able get it to crank then i can figure the remote start later. Any suggestions, experience, and or advice is welcome.

Cobalts for the life of m3 are a pain in the ass(dont ask why).. Ive wired up a DLPK before but you may still need to update it, I know its self learning blah blah blah but i believe you have to update the firmware. Now! Problem i had with the dlpk is that it would work control everything but then forget everything.. agh!.. lol The only bypass i got working is a Idatalink ADS-AL-CA using its D2D cable .. Same idea as the dlpk with full control for transponder bypass/pdl/truck etc.. but not self learning but you just go to iDatalink - Front Page and go through the firmware uploading process which takes all of 2 minutes and follow the wiring diagram.

check your fuse, even if you directly pluged your contact into the battery, it needs other fuse to works

Have you hooked up the keysense wire and second ignition? Both of those will be needed for rs to work. Here is a link to a pdf of the install guide: DLPK install 06 cobalt

Hope this helps

Yes i did hold the clutch.

I have checked and blown many fuses during this process.

I have the keysense wire hooked but i have not read anything on a second ignition wire. U followed the exact guide that you linked, but it also says nothing about a second ignition wire.

What's different ? It's kind of plug and play?

It comes with instructions on what each wire is, you just hook them up.

You have the relay wired up to for the status? and you also have to wire up a relay to the clutch too so it will engage to start the car.

Yes I have the status relay hooked up but what kind of signal is it? I thought it was the while running status meaning that the engine has started. Im using an arduino connected to an iPhone 3G through a serial connection that controls the outputs of the arduino via text-message. This way I can remote start and track my car wherever there is cell service. I'm also working on a GPS auto unlock when I'm 30' away based of the phone in my pockets coordinates. I'm going to look into the iDatalink solution to see if that will work expensive test considering the 60$ dropped on the dlpk.

the clutch is a postive trigger, and since the car has no starter wire, you can use the starter wire coming off the remote start to bypass the clutch by tying into it directly.

For those who said the clutch needs to be pressed down, I have a clutch cancel in my 1997 Toyota Tacoma. Works like a charm. Just make sure it's not in gear
