'07 SS/NA: Aux-in is messed up!

Just picked up a used '07 SS/NA with ~7k miles on it. I was stoked about getting an 07 for the aux in, but it's not working right. When you push the cord in all the way, it only plays through the left side, and somewhat muffled. If you pull it out kinda halfway, it plays clearly through both sides like it should, problem is the cord won't stay like this and if it comes out a little bit the stereo switches back to the radio. Any fixes for this or did the guy before me somehow **** it up? Will they replace it under warranty or am I **** outta luck?

It ought to be under warranty, and that means new radio. And no, it would not be a cheap fix, unless you're FANTASTIC with electronics. Individual radio components are not serviceable.

Also, make sure you're using the right cable.

Does the cord your using have two sriped lines on both ends?

If not, that means its playing as mono and that could be your problem.

Hey thanks for the replies guys. I'll go have a look at the cord... but like I said it plays in stereo when you hold it at the right angle. I tried two different cords.

Sounds like your cord is messed up. Same thing happened to my friend in his xA and it was his cord. Best Buy sells new ones for cheap. I have a Dynex one from there.

Damn. Cause I just bought a new one yesterday so I could leave my old one in the house... my old cord plays only thru the right and the new one thru the left. Weird.

its not the cord its the headphone jack. its broken on the inside hence working holding it at a certain angle (contacts only in that area). It might be the plug but if your tried 2 of them and they are both doing the same thing it has to be the headphone jack

Dammit. Well I'm taking the car in Friday morning... if they won't replace it under warranty I'll look into the PAL.
