07 Stock stereo. Can i add subs and amp?

I have the 07 basic head unit. Just wondering if anyone has taken it apart and knows if you can install amp and subs to it? I just have the basic 4 speaker system but i want more :P and i really like the stock headunit. Any info would be great. Thanks

Actually its pretty easy. I used a line out converter (converts speaker wire to rca) to add a sub. You can look at line out converters, but keep in mind, dont go cheap. The cheaper you get, the worse it sounds. Also I think PAC makes an adapter that plugs in between the radio and the harness, and gives you 4 rca outputs.

mmmm. yea you can.

you wanting to just get a sub and sub amp?

If so, just splice into the 6x9's wires, run the newly spliced in wires to an low level converter, and use those rca's for your amp.

That's the setup I have right at the moment, and although it doesn't meet my audiophile specifications, it definitely will serve its purpose well. if your running stock speakers, set deck bass all the way down and up the gain on the amp.... as speakers are swapped out, adjust the deck bass and the amp accordingly.

correct both users above stated what 85% of peeps in your situation would do. You could also get an amp with high level inputs and you wouldnt need the LOC. Either of those ways are golden

rather than tell you to search I'll tell you the answer.

wiper fuse. use a fuse tap to gain connection to it.

I wired mine to a switch... i put the switch and 3 others in the little compartment for on the left of the steering wheel. It took a lot of work actually but i think it looks pretty good, i also have my neons wired to one of those switches, the other is for the underglow, and the last switch is unused right now

the thing is with the switch you have to remember to turn it off when you park. i forgot to turn mine off for one night, andyessit was a cold night less then 5 degrees, and i woke up to a dead battery, but on a normal night i can leave the switch on aand its ok

I'd go with Warren, its easy and gets the job done. Thats what I did in mine. I'm running 2 DUB 3s, 12s in my car. Hits nice and if you take your time you can hide the wiring pretty well too. Good luck.
