09 LT speaker issues (not wet or blown)

Sorry to crash the SS party, but it seems most cobalt forums are a graveyard. 2009 cobalt, stock radio, basic sound system. I had door speaker issues before due to the infamous water issues, replaced them with cheap aftermarket ones which lasted maybe a year before they went back to cutting in/out, then stopping completely. I just went without door speakers for almost a year. I recently bought some decent aftermarket speakers, but when I hook them up, they don't work. I've tried wiggling wires/plugs, any thoughts on what this could be before I really tear into things? Thanks!

Its possible you burned out the driver in the radio if the previous speakers shorted out from water. The next step I would take would be to test if you have audio at the door connector on the inside.

also look for blown fuses. its probably not that if your radio turns on but worth a shot before you tear into it
