2007 cig lighters always on?

Quick question, in my 2007, both my cig lighters seem to always have power. I have a sirius and radar detector. Its quite a pain to have to turn off/on everytime i enter/exit the car. Is there a guide on how to make them turn off when i turn the car off like the radio?

Thanks

you can rig up a switch to shut them off.

like he said. and even drill into the center console and make it look neat as hell.

Just hardwire the detector and sirius. Use a fuse tap on a switched power circuit (Sunroof works well). I have ValentineOne setup this way and it corresponds with the RAP status of the car. Its much easier and better than hacking a relay into your 12V port.

the RAP wire is a thick yellow in the driver or passenger boot, works all the time until you open the door then shuts off.

Yeah, theres the actual RAP wire, but there are a number of fuses in the block that are affected by the rap, therefore making it so you don't have to tap the RAP wire.
