Just to let everyone know, I swapped these radios on my 08 TC and everything works as it did before. No problem with XM, Onstar or anything else. I have no idea if Bluetooth works as I don't have a Bluetooth phone nor do I know how to sync the phone anyway. The rest worked. I just needed GM to add the radio to my car and smooth sailing from there on.

For the most part, you'll find that only the ipod and non-mp3 player USB sticks will work.

Gen 1 & 2 Zune should be supported.

My wife's Sandisk Sansa e280 is supposed to be supported, but we have yet to get it to work.

Some other brand name mp3 players will work if you put them in the correct mode. For some its MTP, for others its MSC.

Heres more information on that:

I put an 09 deck in my 07, no bluetooth functionality works. I think it's integrated with the OnStar system or something.

The onstar module is just another module in the gmlan chain, like the radio, tcm, pcm, rpd, etc.

I imagine it could have your VIN put on it at the dealer. Switching the actual onstar service to your vehicle could be difficult, but then again maybe not. Think of the people who have defective onstar modules (hypothetical). When GM sends a replacement, there must be some process for switching the service over to the new module.

Hardest part would be acquiring the module itself I think.

Once he did that, blamo! '09 USB radio in an '07!
So I put the USB radio in my 08SS/TC. Got it brand new off of ebay and when I hooked it up there was no programming required. It just started working. Only problem is the door chimes are really loud now so I took it in to my buddy today at the dealership and he tried to program it and came up with the same problem. I need to know exactly what your tech did or anyone else that ran into this problem so he can program it. He said he cant get the BCM to see the radio.

Will this work the other way? Situation:

CaseySS87 and I are trading radios. He has an 09 SS/TC and I have a base model 08 G5. Will both of our radios work on each other's cars?

That would be something you'd have to pioneer for us... :P

GM writes so many different versions of essentially the same firmware that even something that APPEARS as though it should work sometimes doesn't.

While trolling the Solstice sites trying to find info on their rims (there was a set for sale locally really cheap & I wanted to find out if they'd fit) I happened across some radio threads where they had put Cobalt & HHR hu's in their rides, so I would assume that the reverse is possible.

Hi everyone! I'm new here.

I'm looking for the right radio to fit in my car and I found two part numbers corresponding to RPO UUI.

20835359 and 20963684
(the 20758187 was replaced by 20835359)

I'm not sure which on is the right one. It seem to be something with RPO RE8 which I have but I don't know what this mean. Maybe it's the nickel finish?

Anybody have an idea??

Thank you
