trunk latch rattle?

When my subs are on in my car, the only rattle i can hear from outside the trunk is right where it latches down. Is there anyway to fix that? is there just a loose bolt or something? does anyone else have this problem?

you can try tighening it down but your probably going to need to put sound dampening on the trunk itself. idk how loud you are but i had that same issue and i got it to go away by putting dampening on the bumper itself

I'm curious, are you positive it's the trunk latch and not the air recirculation cap at the bottom right of the trunk? I had a cavalier with the same piece and after putting my sub in the Cobalt, it rattles like crazy and I've never figured out a way to properly secure it, while retaining a decent recirculation vent...

oh the pressure vent? it could be that but that normally makes a distinct sound not quite a rattle

I had subs in my cobalt but had to remove them. This car rattles so bad. The heat shields around the exhaust rattled on mine. Couldn't stand it. Lol

the rattle i coming from right behind the lock. so it is either that or it is the trunk latch. those are the only two things i can think of

Could it possibly be the seat releases. I had a problem with those rattling as well.

Yup, that's it.

Did you do anything with it, or leave it alone?

That's not a bad idea. When you sprayed foam in it, did you leave the plastic bracket in there and just seal the inside of it, or remove it completely? I'm a little concerned about removing given the battery could potentially be subject to water, but that rattle is both annoying and embarrassing as it happens on my Cobalt at the slightest volume of bass...

i left the bracket in there. i dont remember exactly how i did it but i tried to keep the foam inside the car as much as possible and it worked pretty well. i think i might have done layers idk, i just sprayed it on the braket itself sorta

Can i remove the black plastic piece that is covering the latch in the trunk? Maybe then i will be able to pinpoint the rattle?
