I have a 06 SS/SC and I want to put a Pioneer Double Din in my car. Now iv done tones of reserch and iv searched the whole site. What do i need to get to install it properly? Do i need to purchase the GM harness? Also am i going to loose my sub or will it still power? Also am i gonna loose my steering wheel controlls? If anyone could help me out that would be great. Thanks in advance.

The General Stereo FAQ sticky at the top of this forum has all the answer you need as far as harnesses and whatnot go.

Wiring Harness: Metra 70-2103
Dash Kit for Double Din: Metra 95-3302
Antenna Adapter: Metra 40-GM10
If you're worried about losing your steering wheel controls check out the PAC Steering Wheel Interfaces.

Depending on what double din deck you have, it should work ok. If it's an Pioneer Avic F series, I've heard of them partially working from the people on Avic411. The volume and source buttons will work, but kinda laggy, and the band buttons will not work. This is all just hearsay though, since I don't have first hand experience with the unit itsself, so take it with a grain of salt. If it's not an Avic series, ignore what I just said.
As far as will the stock sub work, it should if you use the proper harness. You may have to hook the remote turn on wire for the stock amp to the remote turn on/power antenna wire on your aftermarket deck's wiring harness. Again, I gutted everything so I never really used the stock sub/sound system with an aftermarket deck.
Hope this helps.
