Alpine??

Im looking to get a new deck for my balt...I know a older guy from a local that only deals with Alpine/Clarion and he really knows his ****...I heard a couple years ago that Alpine was going downhill big time so my question is have they turned themselves around?? How is their new stuff??

I had an older Alpine deck in my cav (9830 i think) and it worked and sounded great...I dont want a touchscreen or dvd deck just something with exceptional sound..

How is the 9886?? 9887??

Thanks

alpine makes nice equipment they are just expensive. Try and find one with 4 or 5v preouts because alot of them have the 2v

firestorm - I am pretty much going for the same set-up as you minus the head unit...I have an Alpine amp already that will work perfect for my future Type R speakers and hopefully getting 2 10" Type R subs with a seperate amp...

I will probably go with the 9886...

supposedly the imprint module is the **** but i dont know if i would pay 160 for it. im hoping that 650 is including everything with the module harness. **** not sure how much that deck is but you could probably get the pioneer 700bt for less then that with module harness and install

I use to own the 9884 and it was awesome. Sadly it went to the dealer with my car. If I didn't have the pioneer system, I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I have the 9887m its they re best one by far. If you re concerned with SQ, go with it over the 9886. The time alignment features are what makes it worth the money, along with being able to run active on it. From what I ve heard on the SQ boards, the imprint kit is great for imaging, but the eqing is so so. However, if you rea novice, it may come in handy.

I am contemplating the 9887 now.....I can get the 9887 installed without Imprint for cheaper than the 9886 with Imprint...

I heard Alpine's 2009 line-up comes out in a month and a half too though so thats another option to wait and see whats new...
