stock sub 08 ss/tc

curious if it is at possible to replace the stock sub with a powered one, instead of having a box in the trunk taking up all the room?

tried doing a search for this. hope this question hasn't been answered a 100 times.

ok great.

now can i use existing wiring for the stock sub and just add an amp? or should i cut out the existing wiring for the factory and run it like i would through the rear speakers? (not too familiar with the cobalt's audio system)

what i normally recommend over cutting the wires is using T-taps. just disconnect the plug, tap those wires for signal and run new speaker wire thru the now empty screw hole in the back and seal it up
