Alpine or Pioneer head unit?
Any opinions? I just don't seem to like the blandness of the Alpine.....just got out from under a cda-9813 and was wondering, how does the Pioneer stack up in terms of sound quality and features? I know Alpines sound nice and all, but the real little kid in me likes the graphics of the Pioneer.
I was looking at either finding an Alpine cda-9815 new on e-bay or going with the Pioneer deh-p7700, or deh-p80.

alpine is much better for sound because they have the best power since they ahve the best built in amplifiers. Pioneer is not as good but if you are going to use an amp for your speaker it doesnt matter. The onyl thing you have to look for is the amoutn of volts that it pushes out. Make sure it puts 4 volts to each output. if its only 2 dont bother.

Go with the Pioneer. Look for Pioneers Premier line of head units they are the best in terms of sound quality and have Hi-Volt pre outs rca's when compared to regular Pioneer head units. They also carry a 2 year warranty...unlike other brands in that price range.
Alpines are just not as good as they once were. Not that they are bad....just not better than Pioneer.

Well, here's some more insight into the whole Alpine or Pioneer question: I wasn't able to get my Alpine out before the dealer took my trade, so it was in limbo.
And I **** you not, I saw my old car sitting on the lot like 2 days ago and mustered up the courage to ask if they would let me yank it out and they said yes, surprisingly. So, I got my Alpine back and it will go in the new ride. YAY!!!!!!!!!
The reason I was asking was because I figgered I would have to re-purchase a new head unit. Glad it all worked out for the better, and thanks to the very few who responded.
