alternator question

I have a 2006 LS...
I bought a vector 1500 inverter and attached it straight to battery in trunk...
When the car is not running, inverter runs great....
But when the car is running inverter turns off and on after cranking for about 20 or 30 mins..
after much investigation, I figured out that the inverter is shutting down because of the
high voltage of the alternator..
I used a voltmeter in my 12v plug, and as the system reaches 15.2 the inverter shuts down..
its not always 15.2 it fluctuates between 14.8 and 15.3...But I get a lot of off and on during the first 30 minutes when the alternator is bringing the battery up to full charge after initial cranking..
15.2 seems a little high to me, does anyone know if it is possible to turn the regulator down on the alternator a little bit, or what other solution to this problem can there be??

Thanks

take that **** in to be looked at immediately... normally its 14.4v but gm has some fancy nonsense that makes it has it run at 14.4 for a few seconds to crank the engine then down to 13.8

i wouldn't think a regulator is that expensive but i don't know with this new technology, get it warrantied

That doenst sound good. But I'd love to run a 16v system for audio... get a mojo 4kw amp and have any sub pound then explode cuz your giving it **** tons of power!

it seems like I read somewhere may be controlled by ecm module, but not sure.....
works great with everything else....stuff plugged into lighter and such.....

Hey I got another idea...
I got the balt used...but I think it still has the GM original battery.....
maybe it getting time to buy a new battery and the charging system is trying harder to keep the battery charged?

No i was thinking battery may be a little bad....sometimes it sounds like it turns a little slow when starting...maybe the alternator is working extra hard trying to keep the older battery fully charged...cause inverter works fine when car is not running.but only when alternator is charging is there a problem....

Same thing just happened to my car. It is putting out between 14.7 and 15 volts. I ordered a new alternator and it should be in next week. If I don't need to replace it please let me know LOL
