Amp and Sub install
Amp and Sub install
I have the pioneer system with the sub. I also have an Alpine mono amp and a alpine 10 in box sitting in my room. I was wondering if i could do a little plug and play kinda thing...i was wondering if i removed the pioneer sub and replaced it with the amp and new sub if it would all work like the stock system but just have more bass, now that i would have the better 10..? im not educated on audio/video..thats why im here...can someone clue me in on our stereos lol?
It's been reported that the stock sub is borrowed from aftermarket and can hit even harder with a more powerful amp. Based on that, I'm guessing it's really a decent sub. I wouldn't bother replacing it unless you're sure what you're sticking in there is a better sub.
Why do you want to replace it anyway? the current sub doesn't sound good enough or loud enough to you?

nooo, the amp and sub from the factory are made to work together
you have no idea what the impedance and wattage of the combo is
if anything, put in another amp and your sub, dont risk ****** up your stock woofer tho

The wattage doesn't really matter. The sub is only going to use what the amp delivers to it.
If you're just replacing your sub, it's probably best to use your previous amp just for the sub and then you stick your previous sub in there and no problems.
