sounds like a problem with your pcont wire. Did you test all the lines to make sure you getting power signal with each? are you using an aftermarket hu?

test the remote wire for 12+ or 14v... test the power for 12+ or 14v

Sounds like you just blew a fuse, could be the one right at your batt. or the one on the amp itself. If you had it done at a shop then take it back to them tell them to fix it, but after they do take it somewhere else and have hem look it over, if your blowing fuses for no reason then your a) drawing to much power and need to up the size of the fuse (this of course does not count for the amp fuse) or b) shoddy install, which could be a number of probles (wires are exposed to metal being the most common) . There is one more thing, some decks have a fuse on the remote wire, its only a 0.5 amp one but it could have blown as well .
When you opened your trunk did it smell like burnt plastic/rubber or was there any foul order in the air, it would still be there as burnt curcitry tends to linger

My thoughts exactly. That's why I asked if it had been working before. Anything else not working?

They have the amp kit hooked up to the fuse box where the + red is at. The fuse is not blown on that, i'm not sure if the remote fuse is blown or not. But it was working for about a week. It's a JL amp. I check the ground wire and it was working fine. Only thing i can think of is the remote wire behind the stock headunit.

amp could be blown, the ohm rating of the speakers is below what the amp is "stable" at so its not happy, one of those wires could be shorting causing low voltage and making the amp not turn on (either power or remote), bad ground, blown fuses on amp or power wire

Turn your gain down, shorten your ground and get thicker wires.
If your blowing fuses its because your drawing too much power

Next thing i can think of is to check the fuse box for the 15A mini fuse. If that is not blown, Unplug the headunit and the wireharness and plug it all back in. I had to do that for my car. I just installed a NEW headunit with a GMOS-LAN-04 and they amps were not turning on so i disconnected the harness and reconnected it and everything is functional now.
