another HID problem

another HID problem. So i just picked up a set of 3rd Gen lights and DDM 6k HIDs (plug and play). I installed them friday without any problems.

Last night it was suppa rainy, things seemed dark and noticed my passenger side light was out. I turned off my lights and turned them back on, they both lit up. A when i left they both lit up but i realized that one had turned off. I turned my lights off and on again really fast and i was all set for the rest of the way home.

I dont see any flicker, just my passenger side light goes out. would that be a bulb or ballast? or would i have to swap bulbs to check?

Sounds like u need a relay harness to power tve ballasts from the battery instead of thru the cars stock wiring.

That issue is exactly what relay harnesses are meant to solve. Get a relay and you will be good to go.

if its turning on, warming up, and then going out i'd say its probably the ballast. the ballast could have possibly gotten damaged by not having a relay harness...... hmmm.....

Something like that happened it me with the set I have in my truck. The bulb would would warm up flicker then go out. The problem was the bulb. It looked like someone touched the bulb when they were installed and the oil fried the bulb.

i had my hids 6k hooked up through the cars stock harness, then the pass side started filckering and went out. i got a new ballast, the bulb works. but then started flickering. so i got a relay harness and installed it. bulb still flickered. i switched back and fourth and the prob followed to the other side, so sounds like the bulb. i got 2 new bulbs , installed them, went driving, they BOTH started flickering like mad, also my deck went blank then came back on and couple times. i looked like a cop car with strobes. now the one pass side just flickers. by the way i have the same 6k in fogs into stock harness, no probs. my batt it fine, but i did just get a red top optima. idk what to do. im so pissed. HELP

maybe its fucked cause i didnt have the relay harness from the start? i feel like ripping everything out and going back tot stock!

Do you need two relays? One for each light?

mine only flickered out in gear, but it sounds like you've done everything to solve the problem.

no the relay kit only uses the driver side to single them to turn on.

i found the prob , it was a ballast, lucky me there warrenty! and ya the relay hooks to each ballast then has a pos and neg that goes to the stock headlight harness. just look it up in the hook to section, there looks of posts.

no, one relay supplies the driver and passenger side ballasts.
