I was just curious if anyones bought the GM interface yet that lets you control ur ipod thru the radio and displays all the ipod screen info in the OEM radio display as well as charges it at the same time . Since my 07 radio is retro'ed in my 2005 , Im mostly curious how this interfece plugs into the radio . It would be so cool to just plug it in and leave it with no wire coming out of the jack on the radio face .
yea ive got a low end kenwood and i have a direct ipod cable wired from he back of my headunit to the glove box, you basically end up running it off of playlists. my playlists are all geared so they work easily in my car, its not that complicated tho its jus an a/v or r/c plug in, i forget which the cable costs like 30 bucks tho

ya i have it on mine it came that way from the dealer and i plugs into the back of it somewhere and it sit in the glove box im sure you could run it anywhere you want but i have never used it so as to how well it works cant helpyou there
I have it. It is completely plug and play except for one wire. You take the stock stereo out, remove the harness, and plug the harness from the GM interface into the stereo. You take the stock harness and plug it into the GM interface module. Now you have to take a wire out of the main wiring harness on the passenger side of the car below the stereo so that you work with your XM radio. Also you have to get a tech at GM to program the car so that it will see the XM Radio and the module.
Now if you do not have XM, you do not have to get the reprogram done.
It works great. Getting used to the interface takes some learning.....however once you do you are good to go. The only "beef" I have with it is that when you advance a track it is a little slow to the reaction and takes a second or so to advance the track. Other then that.....I like it!!
