Any car radio experts here?

This forum has come up a few times I have searched for things bout the Cobalt so figured it might be the best place to find out bout this question.

You know how you can change button assignments on various things like a remote... is there something I can plug into my radio to do that? Possibly plugging in a laptop with a specific program or something to do it.

Want to make 2 buttons cycle thru the presets. I am pretty sure there is a way, just don't know what the trick is.

I have tried to explain this a couple of times but not sure I can get the info across well.

Actually talking to chevrolet the manufacture and they don't even know the name of the stock radio in cobalts... Just getting basic info is turning out to be very difficult.

If the radio can not be changed, which is probably the case.
Is there a way to plug in a remote that would have those buttons, like the steering wheel radio control buttons on the chevys that have that feature?
Volume up
Volume down
Next
Previous

The annoying thing is that Next and Previous seem to be the key buttons. On the radio I have seek left and right, and <<REV and >>FWD
I just read the seek buttons will scan the presets which is kind of cool, but if possible I am looking for a way to access the mysterious "Next/Previous" buttons.

Lastly from this forum I have seen a few sites like
www.yourgmparts.com
www.crateenginedepot.com
to find GM parts

Can anyone suggest a way to find local places that sell things like "center console armrest", and ect. The few places I have called to see if they carry stock for things like that have been less than educational.
I live in Fort Worth, Tx 76179

^^Just buy an after market HU?... To switch what you want to youd have to reconfigure the rubber pads under the buttons and the responses they go to...take appart a remote control or computer keyboard and youll get the idea...to much hassle man

Auddasea: I'd prefer to keep the stock HU if possible... I know if I wanted to I could just chunk the whole radio for a new one with a remote and everything I wanted, but that's only what I am going to do if I can not find a way to edit the radio buttons/find a remote to plug into the radio that will have the next/previous buttons.

TRANSAM197781: both of those sites have the armrest, I just wanted to see if there was a way to look up local places with those kind of accessories.

The more I think about it, the less likely I think it will be to find a way to reassign the radio buttons. The thing I don't get is that there isn't a wired remote that has the steering wheel control buttons. The same radio is in cars with the steering wheel controls as the cars that do not having the steering wheel buttons... Shouldn't it just be a matter of getting the remote, then taking out the radio and plugging in that remote where the steering wheel controls would plug in?

After many many calls I did get part numbers for what I think is what I am looking for.

Part Number
25824388
46.35 radio control switch

Part Number
15845808
26.95 steeting wheel radio control switch cover

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com is the only site I have been able to find so far that has these parts, but there are no pictures.

Can anyone suggest a way for me to plug in those part numbers and see what they look like?

So it is out there, just gotta find one of those places or another that actually has a picture of it, that is not the crayola diagram of the whole steering wheel with the number 6 pointing to a squiggly line that is suppose to be the radio switch
