i plan on using the dvd player while i drive yea....im not watching it but others in the car will. why else would u do the bypass?? did urs say improper handbrake connection?

no but mine is grounded all the time.... I just did the perm hardware bypass..

And the only reason I have to do the bypass is to use the navigation controls while driving if I need to, other then that, whatever

Kenwood navs are very easy to use, more accurate, and very dependable. They should be at the top of the list and have no update issues like any of the Avic series has ever had.

not to mention bypassing it is as simple as grounding one wire.

ahh ic. i forgot you had to ground it if you wanted to change destinations or some **** like that when your driving.

giving another option have had 3 kenwood navs in the last 4 years in 3 different cars. love them. i hated my Avic Z1 and Z2. always had issues. either it was a firmware issue or innacurate nav. i am pretty thorough with my installs too. all soldered and heatshrunk, very clean, VSS wire connected, etc...

i like to do it right the first time, but always had an issue with Pioneer. the eclipse units have been so/so and kind of on the fence about those systems. i also find the new JVC units have an intuitive nav system

I Will disagree with that, I am a big fan of iGO8, have it on my portable unit and my dash unit now...

BTW the Pioneer F Series run Windows CE, and can run Garmin and TomTom software too with a little hacking....

For those of you who have installed a Navigation system, I have a few questions:
1. The GMOS-LAN04 has connections for Reverse, Park and VSS. have you used them and do they work? If not, where did you pick up these signals. I have a 2009 Cobalt SS.
2. The SWI-PS has a connection for one wire to use the steering wheel controls. Where did you connect this wire?
