Anyone have the predator alarm system?
Alright so someone punched my passenger side fender and I'm sick and tired of this **** so anyone have the predator alarm system and can tell me a little about it? Like where to buy, features, what not to buy etc.
I can't tell you about the predator alarm system. But the viper is really good. The 5704v comes with an external sensor outside the brain of the alarm system. It can detected impacts and will give you a notification on the viper remote. Of course there's other options like a glass break/audio sensor that you can add on.
Not to bag on viper or Clifford or even Avital but they are all kind of crappy alarms, the remotes look and feel cheap, and they don't have very good warranties. I would spend the extra money on a Compustar system, that's what all my cars have and that's I'll I'd ever use in them.
Here's why I like them, remotes and "brain" are independent of each other, so let's say you lose a remote, you can replace it with a new one and at any time you can upgrade remotes all without having to replace the whole system.
The "brain" has a lifetime warranty, so that is a huge peice of mind; if it poops out for any reason (and I haven't had one come back yet) they'll replace it.
The build quality of the components is impeccable, like I said they are a bit more money but you get what you pay for.
Just my 2 cents as I put alarms and remote starts in for people for a living

Your right the LCD viper remotes are cheap mines already showing wear after 6 months lol. But a good thing I have viper smart start so my iphone is in place of the remote. I wish I could of went with compustar or Avital but they don't really offer that around where I live at :/ just viper and I didn't do enough research on clifford lol. Now that you mention Compustar and Avital I have a question, do either one of these have issues when you remote start? I mean for me I had to get my Dball remote starter replaced once.
