i have the valentine one radar, i drive over 100 highway miles a day, and it has saved me a few times. i bought the blendmount off of ebay so it is by no means in my line of sight when driving but you can also see it if you look with no issues. and cops cant see it unless they are really looking for it. also mine is hardwired.

I am looking to get radar detector, Also I am from Virginia so Its illegal to have them, but I am willing to take a risk. I live 8 months in nc anyways. My friend has a mercedes and her **** is built in to one of her air vents and she has like a remote control. Its pretty legit.

I wanted to pick up a V1 but it's looking like I can get a free passport 9500 through work so I guess I'll settle for that. Either way it's a definite upgrade from what I have now. That one will definitely get hardwired in.

i had a valentine for about a year and to be honest i didnt work for **** for me...i had it hardwired and mounted on the top of the windshield and the middle and it rarely picked up anything in the city, but on the highway it would pick up Ka and K band signals like miles before i got to the cop

Mine has saved me many times, great device. Mine is hardwired from my sunroof and looks great.

I had an instance where I went through a town and passed 5 different cops at around 15-20 second intervals, those arrows are amazing.

you dont actually hardwire the radar in. they have plugs you just hardwire the plug to the car so you can unplug the radar.

I have a Escort with Blendmount + invisicord. With the invisicord you just find 12V and ground on your mirror connector and push the pins into the connector. Works the same for the Valentine ones.

You do know they have radar detector detectors? If they have those around you and use them there is no way you can hide it.

i had a valentine one, loved it, will be getting another one soon, also the valentine doesnt transmit a signal that a radar detector detector will pick up so its more or less invisible to them just an fyi

Virginia: Beltronics STi Driver on a visor mount hidden underneath a visor organizer is the popular method. The STi is the only one that won't be detected by Spectre RDD's in Virginia/DC.

Anyways, I personally use a V1. Best detector I've had... plus the magnesium case is durable, having survived a roll-over while sitting on the windshield. I mount mine up high, hardwired.

I hate to tell you this, but the V1 has two radar horns... so it is one of the easiest to pick up by the Spectre RDD's. VG-2 Interceptors, OTOH have not been effective for years on most current RD's, including the V1. Other than the STi Driver by Beltronics, all detectors leak oscillator emissions.

Virginia does use the Spectre RDD's heavily, so the only acceptable detector is the Beltronics STi.
