My gf has a 08 cobalt coupe with the 2.4l motor in it. She got this car used and besides the audio install being crappy the one rear speaker is blown and front. I forget what she has in there right now, it's some brand I never heard of. The CD deck I believe is a Sony X-plod, and I know the amp/speakers/and sub are same just forget name. She wants to put new speakers in her car since others are blown. So I need you audio guys help.

I'm not sure if she is going keep the sub or switch it out with a 12" I have laying around because hers is in a huge box. Grant it she never uses sub so yanking it out seems best to me but we will see.

She likes her music A LOT then again what girl doesn't lol. She listens to all kinda of music from country, old rock, 80s and current. I'm taking it she wants something that will sound good but not kill her pocket. So any recommendations? I don't know if it matters but she can listen to her music pretty loud if its that favorite song lol. I haven't been in audio since I had my car so I've been out of audio game for awhile so any input is great!

Also what proper size speakers are hers in her car? Hoping the damn long wooden screws in rear deck screwed anything up for when I do install.

Oh lastly, it looks like the moron who owned car before put spray foam in his trunk lid, why would he? Is this a new sound deadner lol

 

ya its a cheap wish it was a sound deadener.... just fyi if the install is that bad you may want to go over the wiring and ensure nothing is messed up. im sure the deck will need to be re wired.

speakers are 6.5 in the front and 6X9 in the back

 

Found out speakers are menace? Never heard of them but going be replacing ALL speakers.

just just installed all alpine... i got the 136bt head unit and the type s 6.5 and 6x9s..... and it sounds AWESOM eventually im going to get a 4 channel amp to power all 4!! i think between the 6x9 and the 6.5s they put out good bass. once i get the amp hooked up i will decide if i want to do a sub or not... i got the stereo for 145......the 6.5s for like 65 for pair and the 6x9s for 68....the 6.5s are 2way and the 6x9s are 3ways.. hope this helps you.... by the way i ordered all my stuff thru amazon.

 

Yea that's the brand, like I said I NEVER heard of them. Craigs thanks for info ill have to check out those speakers, not sure if she wants to do sub or not, gotta ask her that.
