auto-down windows
auto-down windows
i was wondering if anyone has taken the driver's auto-down window switch and put it in the passenger side. does this work? or is it not just a simple changable switch?
"sir, here's your drink and ahHHHH!!! my ARM!!!" - <<< or worse
Cadillac CTS has them They make so much more sense to me. Think about pulling away from a toll. You pay and now you have to close your window and pull away?
I used them on a CTS and it was wonderful, plus getting out of the car as well its nice not having to hold everything to close. My buddy's alero has an auto close, auto open, and an auto vent on his sunroof.
could you wire it backwards and reverse the controls?

They should relocate the Moonroof controls to the Steering wheel. I don't think any manufacturer has done that yet.
I would like Auto Up/Down as well.
And the mental picture I got from the "Drive-thru Scenario" was Hilarious! Just picture someone handing their food to the customer and then getting their fingers stuck in the window as the customer drives off. OMG.......Funny!

thanks for the replies guys- im gonna go see how much a switch is at the gm dealer, and if it is decent, ill buy it, but if not ill just kepp an eye out at the wreckers
does anyone know if there are special wires for the sunroof switch? I want to get a switch that allows you to push a button and have it open fully, close fully, or just tilt up. Its a pain to hold it. Just like I want to get two drivers side switches to replace the passenger switch on both sides of the car. Any ideas on the wiring or compatibility would be great.I saw a video of a mazdaspeed3 (my girlfriend has one) that just got one put in aftermarket, the switch had two memory points, full open, full close, and tilt. find it on youtube if you want to see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNoxjHlx4z4

Already saw it.
nothing is impossible. i read it already, i just wanted to know how the wires are placed before i opened it up. if it ends up being too much of a pain in the ass, then i wont, but all it might need is time and some switches that will run the current until the roof is open to a certain point. i know that wabasto company uses relays and preset points inside the motor itself. could always steal one of those
for u drive thru scene guys....my buddy has auto ups/downs with his jetta.....say if ur hand is out the window the window has pinch safety i guess u can call it it starts to catch ur arm then it goes back down when it realizes something is in the way....i wish we had that ****...
