auto-down windows

i was wondering if anyone has taken the driver's auto-down window switch and put it in the passenger side. does this work? or is it not just a simple changable switch?

Interesting... I bet it would work. It really just appears to be a further setting on the switch that engages the window until it is fully open. I wish we had the auto ups as well.

ha ha. I wonder if you could take a switch apart and get another switch and somehow make one.

Cadillac CTS has them They make so much more sense to me. Think about pulling away from a toll. You pay and now you have to close your window and pull away?

I used them on a CTS and it was wonderful, plus getting out of the car as well its nice not having to hold everything to close. My buddy's alero has an auto close, auto open, and an auto vent on his sunroof.

i tried converting the sunroof to an "auto-open" w/ a delay timer, but the way the switch is wired in the Ion it was impossible

They should relocate the Moonroof controls to the Steering wheel. I don't think any manufacturer has done that yet.

I would like Auto Up/Down as well.

And the mental picture I got from the "Drive-thru Scenario" was Hilarious! Just picture someone handing their food to the customer and then getting their fingers stuck in the window as the customer drives off. OMG.......Funny!

does anyone know if there are special wires for the sunroof switch? I want to get a switch that allows you to push a button and have it open fully, close fully, or just tilt up. Its a pain to hold it. Just like I want to get two drivers side switches to replace the passenger switch on both sides of the car. Any ideas on the wiring or compatibility would be great.I saw a video of a mazdaspeed3 (my girlfriend has one) that just got one put in aftermarket, the switch had two memory points, full open, full close, and tilt. find it on youtube if you want to see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNoxjHlx4z4
