You say it's not good to mount amps on boxes. Why so? What is your reasoning?
I am only curious b/c i am going to mount a small amp to my enclosure.

it will rattel the amp pretty bad.mess up the inside of it.amps are made to lay flat not sideways.it has to do with heat.

it also will mess with ur box and **** it up. my friend blew his box apart with his subs because they hit so hard. so think of that much rattle going thru ur amp, its gonna **** **** up. jsut take ur time and do it right, where some one can steal it easily, andit looks nice. I mounted a neon in my trunk and in my back seat today, along with L.E.D's under neath my car today, it looks sweet. but when i get a system, Im gonna have a hard time figuring out with im gonnaput my amp, prolly off to the side and thru the bottom of the trunk. Theres so many holes in that car now lol.but it looks good, the interior kinda looks like it glows white. but once i get tinted windows, it should look better. but, yea, dont mount the amp on the box.

put the amp underneath the rear deck. basically mount it upside down on the roof of your trunk. it car get cooled easier and its easier to hide wires. there is a large cavity up there.

the heat comes from the top.putting it upside down wont help.plus the deck rattels a lot too.

i have never had a problem with an amp breaking down/overheating and i have done a few installs where the amp was mounted on the bottom of the rear deck.

if you dont want it to rattle, leave it at home. news flash: the car rattles

Well i found out what rattles, its some gold clips that hold the rear deck carpet down. You can see it from the trunk if you put your head in, but i am confused on where to put it.

put it down where the spare wheel is (take spare wheel out) its very close to the battery, and there is carpeting down there and a small peice of fiberboard or something, secure it to the fiberboard and make sure to leave the carpet underneath. it works very well!

Looks like a capacitor...stores power until it's needed on a big bass moment, then feeds it to the amp to help with lights dimming and putting such a large strain on the alternator.

those are my crossovers for my component speakers in the front. and i have the rear crossovers in the trunk lid. on the left is my capacitor and power distributor. I made a board and mounted it in there. not hard at all.

See but i dont have any wood and no money to go buy some since i just got all this new stuff for my car. I just wanna find a place to put the amp without modifying anything. What if i took the stock sub out? is there a solid plate behind there to mount it to?
