Memphis S Class:

This year Memphis Car Audio is offering completely new shallow-mount SClass subwoofers, available in 10" and 12" cones.

The incredibly compact SClass subwoofers can fit where most subs can't, while still providing impressive performance. These SClass full-size subwoofers are shallow enough to mount just about anywhere. Lots of bass in a small space!

Hell, even Kenwood makes some shallow mount subs. Theirs have carbon fiber cones and actually should pretty good. But then, all the shallow mount subs sound fairly close.

true. do you think its possible to fit a sholow mount in the spare tire well? cuz i dont wanna weigh down the car to much, and thought i could fill in the empty space, OR just take out the spare tire and get a regular sub and box and make it that much easier. lol

i want to do a full system now w/ regular subs.
i went to a local shop. they are kinda expencive, but warrenty their work for the full time i have the car. i talked to the guy i have talked to and baught from before, got a few quotes with different subs and different amps. mainly going with JL, and one setup has an alpine amp. and they warrenty the subs and amps for a minimum of a year, or 2 years. he told me right then and there that i can go somewhere and get it for cheaper but they wont warrenty it at all. if i blow out a sub compleatly, i take it there, they put in a new one, FOR FREE.

these are the quotes...

1-
JL 12 inch w3
JL amp
ported box
labor
wire
=$716

or w/ JL w1
=$600

2-
2 JL 10inch w3
Alpine 1000 watt D class amp
ported box
labor
wire
=$1200

or w/ JL w1
=$820

JL used to be decent, but now a days they are so slacked off and still charge the same price... I have 119.99 memphis prs at my shop that sound way better than the 230+ w3's, don't like their highs, subs, the hd amps are ok but not worth the price... are you looking for just to be loud, sound quality with the cap. of being loud or what... i could give you advice to what to look into

For you I would suggest a rockford Slim P3 12. I think that would be your best bet because those RF subs pound and sound pretty decent, now you just need to find a truepower 500-700 Watt amp
