Best way to wire up this dvc sub and amp?
I just got a 10" dual voice coil (4 ohms each) sub and need to know how to wire it to my amp for the best results (loudest). The amp is a Clarion APA250: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-PXhY2xr...px?I=020APA250
All of the research I have done tells me that I can only run the sub at either 8 or 2 ohms, but is there a way to wire it so I can have my amp bridged at 4 ohms and the sub at 4 ohms? If not, is it safe to wire the sub for 2 ohms mono? What is the best way to wire it up?
The sub that got fried was a single voice coil at 4 ohms and it hit way harder than this one... please help!

on your sub
How many subs do you have? What model... That amp is really small and from what I read only stable at 4ohms bridged mono. It can run 2 ohm but it only outputs 100 watts per channel

Ya its a small amp, but it was plenty loud for me with the blown sub. I'm only running 1 10" sub http://www.clarion.com/ca/en/product...393346915.html
If its stable at 4 ohms mono... is it safe to run it at 2 ohms mono? Is there a way to 'trick' it into thinking its running at 100x2 at 2 ohms?

I think I'm just gonna connect 1 voice coil to the amp... I know the sub's RMS will be cut in half, but it's still more than the amp will be putting out and it will be running at 100 watts @ 4 ohms instead of 50 watts @ 8 ohms (I tried the 2 ohm setup but the amp got mad at me).
